We Got Game Chicago Coaches Training

Coaches Training

We Got Game works with park districts, YMCA’s, recreation centers, and youth sports instruction companies to train coaches. Due to financial constraints, many organizations choose to use volunteer coaches to coach their leagues.  Our coaches training courses will prepare your staff to teach players about the sport in a fun, safe, and instructional environment.

What makes our course successful is we provide hands on experience on the court and/or field to prepare them with the newest skill building games and help to collaborate on ideas. We also implement and teach the rules of the sport and the rules of your league to give the coaches everything they need for a successful season.  Each coach will leave our training session feeling prepared to: control children in a group, teach skill building activities, and communicate with parents about playing time and league rules.

Coaches Clinic I
This clinic provides information to volunteer coaches for ages 5-8.  The focus is on how to communicate the sport so the child develops a strong knowledge base of the program.  Other aspects that are covered are child development issues such as gross motor skills and manipulative skills for this age group and strategies on how to enhance these skills.

Coaches Clinic II
This clinic is designed for coaches and presented by coaches.  Pre-season strategy through post-season preparation is discussed.  Communicating with parents, practice planning, game planning, teamwork, scheduling and motivating are included.
